For individuals and organizations wishing to hold a special event, rent the Main Street Pavilion at Merritt Commons, or hold another type of activity, the applications below are required prior to the event. Deadlines may vary from one application to another, so please plan events well in advance to avoid delays or denials due to lack of notice.

Special Event Permit Application - This application is required for any parade, festival, street fair, or similar event that will require closure of a City of Roxboro street, parking lot, or sidewalk. This application requires a $50 application fee for any event that requires a public hearing.

Off-Duty Officer Form for Special Event with Street Closure - Please contact the Roxboro Police Department for instructions on how to fill out the Officer Contract Agreement to include in your complete Special Event Application.

Off-Duty Officer Form for non-road closure event-  Please contact the Roxboro Police Department for instructions on how to fill out the Officer Contract Agreement.

Assembly Permit Application - This application is required for pickets, protests, or similar activities.

Main Street Pavilion Rental Application - This application is required for requesting the use of the Main Street Pavilion at Merritt Commons. The parking lot can be used by event participants, but is shared with the Uptown business community. If the event requires the parking lot be dedicated for the use of the pavilion, a Special Event Permit Application will be required to close the parking lot for private use. This application requires a $100 deposit for any not-for-profit events and $50/hour for all for-profit events.

Roxboro Savings Centennial Park Application-  This application is required for requesting the use of the Roxboro Savings Centennial Park. The park can be used by event participants.  If use of the space is part of a planned Special Event, the application must be included with the Special Event application.  This application requires a $100 deposit for any not-for-profit events and $50/hour for all for-profit events.
