Completed applications are reviewed by the Planning Board, then submitted to the City Council for a decision. Applications are due no later the thirty (30) days prior to the next regularly-scheduled meeting date for the Planning Board (see schedule). An application fee of $200 is due at the time the application is submitted. Incomplete applications may result in a delay in a request being placed on the agenda.
Amendments to the City of Roxboro Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) and the Official Zoning Map are updated bi-monthly, and are available for review in the Planning & Development office.
Some decisions require a quasi-judicial procedure. These decisions include variances, special use permits, and appeals. This type of hearing requires factual or expert testimony, and mimic a court proceeding in that individuals testifying must be sworn in before giving their statements. The members of the board sit as judges during the hearing and determine if certain findings of fact can be affirmed based on the statements, evidence, and testimonies given.
