Building Inspection Services
Through an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement for Building Inspection Services with Person County, the County Inspection department provides building inspection services within and for the City of Roxboro including, but not limited to enforcement of: State and local laws and ordinances and regulations relating to the construction of buildings; the installation of facilities as plumbing systems, electrical systems, heating systems, refrigeration systems, and air conditioning systems; the maintenance of buildings in a safe, sanitary and healthful condition, etc..

Per agreement, no building permit can be issued for any construction, repair, or improvement to any land or structure within the City of Roxboro unless a zoning permit has been issued or comparable approval has been given by the City's Planning & Development Department. No Certificate of Occupancy can be issued for any structure with the City unless a valid Certificate of Compliance is obtained for the Planning & Development Director.

The Person County Inspection Department is located at 352 South Morgan Street in the former Person County Health Department, beside the Tennis Courts. The physical and mailing address is: 325 South Morgan Street, Roxboro, North Carolina, 27573.
