Person County serves some of the best citizens in North Carolina. The hearts of our citizens allow programs like the Roxboro-Person Police Activity and Athletic League to provide outreach to the youth of our community. The youth in our community are the next generation of leaders who will raise families. The goal of RP-PAAL is to provide a sustainable program that will impact families for future generations.
The desire of RP-PAAL’s Board of Directors is to work in collaboration with likeminded community partners and stakeholders for the benefit of the youth in our community. With strong partnerships, the possibility of impacting the life of our community youth substantially increases. To achieve that goal, our board of director’s vision is to provide mentoring, academic assistance, life skills and promote positive relationships with the diverse youth in our community through athletics and activities.
The initial meeting for the program was held on November 14, 2016 to begin the process of becoming an incorporated non-profit. Since then, the program obtained Articles of Incorporation through the North Carolina Secretary of State Office and is a registered 501 (c)(3) non-profit. The founding board members are Attorney Lin Cates; Sherry Clayton; Ron Perkins; Louise Oliver; Pastor Tim Bowes and Roxboro Chief of Police David L. Hess.
Over the course of the next five years, I look forward to being part of an exciting journey with RP-PAAL as we seek to make a difference in the lives of our youth. You are invited to help this program grow by volunteering to help, providing donations, or offering meaningful opportunities to partner with your business or non-profit.
