General Information

Applications must be completed in it's entirety and accompany your resume. ( Sending resume only is is Unacceptable").
Only one position may be specified on the application. If there is interest in more than one position you may copy your application and list titles separately.

Special attention should be given to the deadline date. Any application received after the deadline, or is not postmarked by the deadline date will not be reviewed for the current vacancy. However, applications are kept on file for 2 years.

The Human Resources Manager and Department Head/Supervisor will screen applications and schedule interviews within a 2-week period after closing date, with the exception of positions that are open until filled which may be scheduled at different times.

The Human Resources Manager will correspond with all unsuccessful applicants in writing after the conclusion of interviews and the position has been filled.

Benefits

Insurance Benefits
Health Insurance is provided by the City with Wellpath Select for employees and dependents at no cost to the employee. Coverage includes medical, vision, and a prescription drug card. New hires have a 90-day waiting period.

Dental
The City of Roxboro offers a dental insurance plan for employees and dependent through payroll deductions.

Life Insurance
Life insurance of $15,000 for employees and $2,500 for dependents is provided at no cost to the employee. Coverage begins on the first day of the month after 60 days of employment. In addition, a death benefit in the amount of one (1) times the amount of employee annual salary (not less than $25,000 but not more than $50,000 maximum) is provided through the retirement system after one year of service with the City of Roxboro.

Retirement Benefits
All full time employees are required to enroll as a member of the North Carolina Local Governmental Employee's Retirement System. The Retirement System program will meet the retirement and disability needs of the employee. Employees contribute 6% of their salary and the City currently contributes 4.91% for general employees and 4.78% for Law enforcement officers. Employees that leave the City prior to retirement may elect to have their contributions (plus interest after 5 years of service) refunded. Coverage begins immediately upon employment.

401(k) and 457- Supplemental retirements are offered to all full-time employees at a tax-deferred savings with no match from the City. Sworn Police are given a 5% match per State requirements.
