Land Use Decisions Made
At the August 14th meeting of the Roxboro City Council, decisions were made regarding several Land Use requests from area residents.
A rezoning request for 608 S Main Street, held over from the previous month's meeting, came back before the Council for a decision. The Council unanimously approved the request to rezone the property from B-1 Highway Commercial, to R-6 High Density Residential.
Another rezoning request for three parcels located off Patterson Drive came before Council for the first time on Tuesday evening. The request to rezone the three parcels identified as Tax Map and Lot numbers 102 2, 102 81, and 107 78. The first two of the three parcels were recently annexed into the City limits, thereby triggering a necessary rezoning to bring the parcels into City zoning regulation. The applicant added the third parcel to his request for R-6 High Density zoning, as that parcel was previously zoned R-12 Low Density Residential. Council unanimously approved the rezoning of all three parcels.
Additionally, Council heard a request for a Special Use Permit to allow a church to operate at 907 Ridge Road. The property previously housed a beauty salon. Council granted the request, with one condition, which required the applicant to meet all necessary building and fire codes as a part of the renovations to convert the building for the new use.
Each of these decisions went into effect immediately.
