The City of Roxboro (8,157) currently has openings in our Police Department for a Patrol Officer.  Roxboro is situated in Person County, which is located near the Virginia border and just a short drive from Raleigh, Durham, and Greensboro. This position will perform law enforcement work including, but not limited to, patrol work, traffic detail, emergency response, investigations, and special events. 

Starting Salary:

  • $35,482 – BLET Certified with no prior experience

  • $37,256 – Current NC LEO with 3 years prior NC Sworn Law Enforcement Experience


  • U.S. Citizen

  • At least 21 years of age

  • High school graduate

  • Preferably a two-year Associate’s degree or higher

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • No criminal record, except for minor traffic offenses.

  • Good moral character

  • Good physical condition

  • Preference given to:

    • BLET Certified Applicants

    • Experienced Law Enforcement Officers
